FACILITATION
“Organizations learn when people are able to speak openly, reflect on experience, and work together to improve how the work gets done.”
— Amy C. Edmondson
CULTURE//SHIFT: Collaboration Across Difference
Today’s leaders are operating inside unprecedented levels of social fragmentation, emotional intensity, and institutional strain. Teams bring real fear, anger, grief, and mistrust into the workplace, while leaders are expected to maintain performance, morale, and accountability in environments where one misstep can escalate into relational breakdown, public scrutiny, or lasting harm.
Culture Shift: Collaboration Across Difference exists to equip leaders and teams to construct ways of working together that foster psychological safety, employee engagement, and innovative problem solving.
The Process
The process integrates evidence-based assessments to generate data and insights about how team members experience and navigate differences. This information becomes the foundation for customized learning and dialogue, connecting new frameworks and real-world dynamics so that participants can make sense of their own patterns and practice more effective ways of working together.
The result is greater ease in collaboration, stronger relationships, and a shared language for addressing difference with confidence and skill.
This offering is available in 3 variations:
Half-Day Retreat: Recommended for new or newly formed teams establishing shared understanding and ways of working together.
Full-Day Retreat: Recommended for established teams seeking to improve collaboration or address recurring tensions and friction points.
Three-Day Training: Recommended organizations that want an intensive development experience that builds intercultural awareness and applied skills across the organization.
Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) - Integration Session
For teams that want the insight of the IDI assessment without a full retreat or training. This option includes assessment results with a 90-minute facilitated debrief.
(For individuals who wish to explore their results in greater depth, these insights can also serve as a foundation for our three-session coaching intensive: Make the Shift.)
CONFLICT//SHIFT: Critical Conversations Training
Constructive conflict is a mark of a healthy team. Conflict Shift: Critical Conversations builds the capacity to engage disagreement with steadiness, clarity, and mutual respect.
Using research-backed frameworks and experiential learning, participants develop emotional self-awareness and learn practical techniques for regulation and recovery in the moment. Breathwork, reflection, and short applied exercises create the grounding for skill-building in listening, candour, accountability, and collaborative problem-solving.
The result is a culture where people can speak honestly, stay engaged through tension, and use disagreement as a source of trust and innovation.
This offering is available in 2 variations:
Half-Day Training: Recommended for teams seeking a foundational introduction to emotional intelligence and conflict skills they can apply immediately in daily work.
Three-Day Training: Recommended for managers and leaders who want a deeper, practice-based development experience integrating communication frameworks, power and identity awareness, and advanced conflict-navigation techniques.
“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”
— James Baldwin
STRATEGY//SHIFT: Social Impact Strategic Planning
Every organization faces the challenge of aligning vision with action. Strategy Shift helps teams clarify priorities, engage stakeholders, and design strategies that create measurable social impact.
The process blends facilitation with research-based planning tools to guide teams through setting purpose-driven goals, mapping partnerships, and developing actionable plans for implementation. Participants move from ideas to concrete priorities, identifying who needs to be involved and how success will be defined.
For nonprofits, the retreat centers on program strategy→defining the services and initiatives that most effectively advance the mission.
For corporate teams, it focuses on social responsibility → integrating community and equity commitments into sustainable business strategy.
The outcome: clear direction, shared accountability, and strategies that connect organizational purpose to real-world results.
Customized//Shifts: Bespoke Trainings and Retreats
Some challenges call for something fully tailored.
Shift//Work designs custom experiences for organizations working within complexity: balancing competing demands, multiple stakeholder perspectives, and the need to stay adaptive through change.
Each engagement begins with a deep discovery process to understand context, culture, and goals. From there, programs are designed from the ground up, integrating assessments, learning frameworks, and facilitation methods selected to fit your team’s exact needs.
These custom sessions create the space and structure to make sense of complexity together, transforming tension and uncertainty into shared insight, clearer direction, and practical next steps.
