SHIFT//WORKers Collab
Because change is easier when we don’t have to do it alone.
Our world is changing. Our organizations are changing. The boundaries between humanity and technology are changing. And the social expectations, norms, values, and realities that shape how we live and work are changing alongside them.
The SHIFT//WORKer Collab is a virtual community gathering designed to help us build the capacity to meet those changes within ourselves, with one another, and across our organizations.
Through a series of virtual gatherings, we’ll come together to make sense of the shifts we’re experiencing, metabolize change in our bodies and lives, cultivate shared wisdom, and develop the practices that help us navigate transformative moments together.
SHIFT//WORKers [plural noun]: leaders, thinkers, and changemakers who know that leading in a changing world requires us (and the organizations we shape) to evolve alongside it.
Leadership can be isolating, especially during times of transition and uncertainty. The Collab creates a place to find one another: to compare notes, share what we’re seeing, wrestle with hard questions, learn across sectors and experiences, and generate wisdom none of us could arrive at alone.
The series will explore change across interconnected levels: self, interpersonal, and organizational. We’ll examine our own relationships with change and develop embodied practices for navigating uncertainty and transition. We’ll explore what it means to support and lead others through change in ways that preserve agency, deepen connection, and build our collective capacity to adapt, and center collective flourishing. And we’ll consider organizational evolution: not only how organizations manage change, but how they themselves may need to evolve in response to a changing world.
Each gathering will take up a different dimension of what it means to do Shift Work: building our individual and collective capacity for complexity, change, and transformation.
October Collab: Embodying Change
This month, we’re exploring somatic intelligence: the capacity to notice and work with embodied signals in ourselves and others.
Under stress, we often override the body and default to familiar patterns. That can narrow our choices, strain relationships, and reduce an organization’s capacity to adapt well under pressure.
Come explore practical ways to build stress tolerance, expand your range of response, and navigate change with greater awareness, flexibility, and intention.
